  • Abstract
The next steps in signaling (NSIS) IETF working group has been recently created to design a generic IP signaling protocol supporting various signaling applications such as resource reservation and middle box configuration. This paper presents the generic signaling service protocol (GISP) we designed to contribute to the NSIS WG effort taking into consideration the current outputs of the working group. In particular, we focus on the state management and transport mechanisms of GISP.
