Abstract
Here we present a quantum pulse gate (QPG) based on ultrafast frequency upconversion of quantum light pulses inside a nonlinear waveguide. This device enables the individual addressing of different orthogonal broadband modes of an ultrafast multimode quantum state of light. This is done by accordingly shaping the ultrafast gating pulse which pumps the process.
