Abstract :
The stability of cementite plates under compression stress is investigated. The behaviour of steels with lamellar cementite structure in cold plastic deformation is examined. Under compression stress there are losses of plate stability. Despite the major width being mainly cementite, plates remain unbroken. Such behaviour of carbides is explained by their laminate structure
