Abstract :
Mind mapping is a technique which applies whole brain thinking to substitute one¿s traditional thinking mode. Through the path of framing the subject to diverge human thinking, and connecting the 2nd/3rd level to the 1st/2nd level branches, mind mapping can achieve its target as a method of specifying radial thinking. Conceptual design is the summary of designers¿ organizing and refining their emotional and sudden thinking. Utilizing mind mapping appropriately in conceptual design could help us keeping the balance of sciences and arts, as well as of logical and imaginary thinking, so that designers¿ potential could be fully developed. The product of conceptual design is designers¿ ultimate pursuing, and the creativity in designing procedure is their high-way of thinking. Application of mind mapping could concentrate and enforce human intellectual in conceptual design.
