Abstract :
Broadband balanced diode mixers and frequency doublers are presented which employ a new planar balun. The circuits can be biased easily. Typical conversion loss and noise figure for the mixers are below 6 dB at X-band. The frequency doublers show a conversion loss of about 10 dB and an isolation of more than ¿50 dB between 2.3 and 2.8 GHz.
