Abstract
This publication describes two new classes of specialised information systems: UBIAS and E-UBIAS. Such systems belong to the group of cognitive reasoning systems and are designed for the semantic analysis of complex patterns having the form of biomedical images. These systems are predecessors of a new generation of intelligent systems for understanding medical image data and using this data as biometric characteristics.
