Abstract :
A new technique is presented for the realisation of 0 dB couplers in microstrip. This new technique involves the minimization of out-of-band coupling in nonuniform directional couplers by modifying the reflection coefficient distribution function. The selection of 0 dB coupling simplifies the theoretical formulation of coupling response of the nonuniform coupled lines. Theoretical results are presented for band-pass couplers designed on alumina substrate.
