Abstract :
An efficient simulation tool called DYNAMO has been developed for the study of transient faults in digital circuits. It uses a dynamic mixed-mode simulation approach, whereby the representation of any subcircuit may switch among different levels of abstraction during simulation as mandated by the location of the transient fault and the resulting behavior of the subcircuit. The proposed algorithm is applied to the simulation of portions of an A/D (analog-to-digital) converter circuit. Experiments have shown very encouraging results with significant speed-ups in CPU run-times relative to the previous approach
