Abstract :
This paper proposes a novel idea of 10 kW 100 kHz power amplifier using the technology of multilevel inverter. Its amplifier is composed of two pairs of 5level inverters with interphasa reactor. It has 81 switching patterns to contrast with 9level of output voltage and two switching control modes in this proposed multilevel inverter. By employing this control methods, the switching frequency can be reduced by about 1/8 times and the circulating current can be reduced within ±1 ampere with respect to the difference of output current 40 amperes. The efficiency of this system is over 93% at 10 kW and the size is as follows: length is 350 mm, width is 250 mm, and height is 150 mm. This paper also presents the effectiveness of the computer simulations, characteristics, and arbitrary output waveforms of the system.
