Abstract :
High-technology enterprises (HTEs) need to ensure their R&D capability embraces effective processes for dealing with standards setting. Based on a framework of R&D capability for HTEs within a standardization environment and given the dynamic characteristics of standardization, this paper proposes correlations between standardization and R&D capability respectively in terms of standardization lifecycle and standardization process. This is an attempt to adjust R&D strategies of HTEs to evolving standardization processes, thus enlightening HTEs on managing their resources appropriately and adopting proactive steps for any future standardization developments.
