Abstract :
In this paper we present a full-wave analysis for a single thick microstrip or stripline in a multilayered medium. Our analysis is based on an integral equation which enforces the zero tangential electric field on the surface of the strip. Unlike previous publications our approach not only yields the propagation constant as a function of frequency but also the impedance. In this way a full circuit equivalent for a thick microstrip or stripline is obtained.
