Abstract :
A new magnetic field measurement with fiber grating based on the polarized effect was proposed. The linear relationship between the Polarization Dependent Loss of transmission light and magnetic field in circular birefringent grating is proved. We can get the magnetic field from measuring the peak value of PDL. But the measurement performance of triangular grating is better than the uniform grating, the reflection spectrum is usually deeper than the transmission spectrum. To improve the sensitivity of magnetic field measurement, we proposed a new measurement for magnetic field based on Polarization Dependent Loss of reflection light on triangular grating and analysed the influencing factors on measurement performance.
