Abstract :
The status of the JET (Joint European Torus) pellet-injector development program, its precipitating factors, and results to date are reported. The presently operated pellet injector is briefly described, the design of the prototype is outlined in detail, and the plans for the near future are presented. The design of the prototype high-speed launcher is described along with the installation schedule. Overall future plans are outlined
