Abstract :
This paper adresses the effect of anisotropic layers on the properties of Microwave and millimeterwave integrated circuits. A dynamic full wave analysis based on the Spectral Domain Technique has been developped and applied to calculate the propagation characteristics of microstrips, coplanar waveguides and slotlines for several orientations of the anisotropic substrates. We give the effect of the anisotropy on the effective permittivity, the characteristic impedance and the field pattern. This effect may be significant in several configurations. Some experimental results concerning the effective permittivity are given for Epsilam 10 substrate.
