Abstract :
Various protective devices are applied in the distribution system. In this paper, the authors propose a conceptual framework of a new concept of `protectability´ which denotes the protection level of the distribution system. Evaluation attributes have been identified and a hierarchical evaluation model has been modified. Dempster-Shafer theory of evidence is applied in combining multiple uncertain criteria to produce an aggregated evaluation which is known as PI (protectability index) in protection level of system
