Abstract :
Based on the hardware redundancy theory, the dual redundant directional valve (abbr. redundant valve) for marine hydraulic steering gear is designed. Modeling and simulation investigation are applied to optimize the structure and to improve the performance of the digital valve to meet the requirements of IMO (International Maritime Organization) and other regulations. It is essential to investigate the dual redundant digital valve for hydraulic steering gear on board ship. It could simplify the hydraulic system, improve its reliability and safety, and reduce the cost.
