Abstract
Automated transit systems require high level of integration among all the electrical and mechanical systems. It is necessary to address thoroughly all the operational and functional requirements in order to ensure the compatibility among all the systems can be achieved. This paper will describe the processes in establishing a generic functional requirements model undertaken by Land Transport Authority of Singapore based from our experiences of the past fully automated transit system projects. This model forms one of the key pillars of our overall systems engineering process which will be used for future projects. The methodology and approach adopted in establishing these generic models will also be described. Experience gained in setting up such model will also be given in the paper.
