  • Abstract
    With rapid economic and social developments in China, the metro companies are directed to adopt a more "commercial" on the construction and operation of metro systems. As recommended by the PRC National Standard GB/T 50358-2005 Code for management of engineering contracting projects, metro project undertakers shall implement modern project management practices in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of project management. PB, as the Project Management Consultant for the Shenzhen Metro no. 3 Project, has introduced a number of new practices since the commencement of the consultancy contract in November 2004. This paper provides a brief account of new project management practices that has been implemented in the project.
