Abstract :
This article presents a new idea about device driver software in SCADA systems. Under the guidance of OPC (OLE for Process Control) standard, we can use various sorts of device driver software of different vendors with the advantage of speed, efficiency, harmony, easy modification and maintenance. As a result, SCADA systems become more open and flexible than before, and have the function like “Plug&Play” in Windows system, supporting continuing development and utilizing of legacy software in SCADA systems
