With the rapid development of the globalization of economy, internationalization of S&T and socialization of information, the internationalization of technology innovation which characterized by the research and development (R&D) internationalization has been the new pattern of technology cooperation and innovation for country, region and enterprise, and also has been the source of the sustainable development of the economy. From the perspective of developing country, this paper conducts a systematic and comprehensive analysis of the determinants of oversea R&D investment and location choice by multinationals applying the Motivation-behavior analytical paradigm. Our findings reinforce the conclusions that supply factors have played an important and growing role in influencing a company´s foreign R&D decision in developing countries; and then, explain the discrepancy of R&D internationalization across regions and sectors; finally, we conduct a analysis and prediction of the development trends of R&D internationalization.
