Abstract
Two main problems connected with the design of the absorbing section of the rotary vane attenuator were strictly solved: 1) attenuation constant of the dominant mode of the circular waveguide with a resistive film in the diametral plane was determined, 2) the scattering matrix of a section of the circular waveguide with the same film was found. The optimization of the parameters of the rotary vane attenuator was perfomed on the basis of the problems solved.
