Abstract
Current-fed MOSFET inverters are the usual structures for tube welding applications. In practical working conditions, short-circuit of the welding coil is very common and can damage the power transistors of the inverter if no special precautions are taken. The aim of this paper is to show what are the critical parameters in short-circuit conditions, and explain the measurements to be taken in order to have high reliability on the converter.
