Abstract :
Antennas designed for use at millimetrewaves and sub-millimetrewaves are reviewed. The use of these parts of the spectrum for communications, radar and remote sensing is growing rapidly and with it the demand for high performance antennas. Many novel designs have been developed to exploit the unique characteristics of millimetrewaves. The short wavelength means fine tolerances which has led to precision and efficient reflectors and feed horns. The paper reviews the current position for reflectors, lenses, horns, planar antennas, travelling wave antennas and integrated antennas.
