Abstract
For these studies measurements on model cables with an insulation of crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) with metal particle inclusions were performed. Different particle amounts and dimensions were used. It was shown that the decrease in breakdown strength due to the contamination does not show any strong dependence on the particle size but that it is depending on the contamination density
