Abstract :
In designing of overhead and cable lines (OH and CLs), and their laying and operation, it is necessary to take into account the influence of electrostatic and electromagnetic fields generated by the charges on, and the currents in, cable conductors, on biosphere and environment. Special attention is to be paid to the level of electromagnetic field in the immediate vicinity of OH and CLs, since this field acts on biosphere representatives on the cell level and may cause degeneration of living cells and results in subsequent serious diseases. An analytical and a numerical procedure reported here enable prediction of the electromagnetic situation along the routes of OH and CLs and formulation of measures making it possible to reduce the electromagnetic-field intensity around them.
