Abstract :
The fundamentals of creativity are presented in this paper, followed by a discussion on the possible role of computers. It is argued that while most current computer applications tend to inhibit creative decision making, it is feasible to develop systems that can, not only support creativity, but also emulate it. Then, a computer system to aid creative decision making is presented. It is based on the `cognitive browsing´ stimulation technique. Objects in the database are represented by membership functions. Browsing is modeled by a wholistic-additive evaluation function that considers each dimension as a match between goals and constraints
