Abstract
An ultra-wideband rectangular planar monopole antenna with an operation bandwidth larger than 20 GHz is designed using the bevelling technique. In this work it will be proved that instead of a square planar monopole, a rectangular planar monopole with double bevel is a better way to increase the antenna bandwidth at least 10:1, without degrading the stability of the radiation pattern. Also the ground plane size influence onto impedance and radiation pattern was investigated. Simulated and experimental results have close convergence.
