Abstract :
A low-cost non-contact displacement sensor using the self-mixing effect inside a cw single-mode laser diode has been developed to measure displacements of a metallic target for modal analysis. The resonance frequencies of a thin clamped plate have been detected with an accuracy of 0.2 Hz
