Abstract :
The spontaneous emission of light is strongly modified due to the presence of the grating and the below diffraction limit width MIM waveguide. This spontaneous emission modification manifests itself in the experimental results as a near absence of light in the stop band, and a significant reduction in the laser threshold when compared to Fabry-Perot cavity devices.
