Abstract :
To increase the link capacity and reliability, the use of channel state information at the transmitter in multi-antenna systems is often discussed in current research. Such information is often obtained via a feedback link which is usually limited by rate constraints. In this paper, we propose a novel scheme to quantize the channel direction vector by exploiting the temporal correlation for MISO fading channels. With the same amount of feedback bits, our proposed scheme achieves a significant capacity gain on the forward link compared to conventional quantization techniques. This gain increases with decreasing channel dynamics.
