  • Abstract
The primary purpose of this paper is to demonstrate that world class manufacturing represents a goal that all motor manufacturers should seek. The focus is on continuous improvement and the process elements for achieving world class status. A “Road Map-A Route To Implementation”, is shown. Examples of world class “best” performances and results are illustrated. This paper is not expected to be the answer for all motor manufacturers. Some have achieved many process elements of world class manufacturing and some have not. Each manufacturer must decide what process elements are important to their business and proceed to that level. The author has nearly 35 years of experience in “world class manufacturing” and this paper represents that experience
