Abstract :
Rigorous design method for matching right-angle E-plane bends in rectangular waveguide, based on full wave analysis of the device, is presented for the first time. This procedure allows to achieve significant improvement for corner mismatch respect to the empirical mitered solution. Moreover, this design method, utilizable also for millimeter-wave guides, allows the phase of transmission parameter to be known carefully. That is important in some applications like, for instance. beam forming networks. The theory is verified by measurements.
