Abstract
In the modern world of business, companies with a clear strategic vision for the alignment of business processes and information technologies are rewarded. Such solutions require a high level of business and technical expertise in improving processes that bring most benefits. Standard software packages are usually insufficient to support all the particularities of business processes. Therefore, custom-designed modules have been developed. All these various software units must be integrated in a coherent information system. Component-based development is a very promising approach to address such problems. By using software components and consistently separating them according to functions, we increase system flexibility. The paper presents one practical application of this concept.
