Abstract :
In this paper we present a simple technique for matching E-plane steps in rectangular waveguide over the full band. This technique is based on a systematic experimental procedures and analysis and takes advantages of the frequency behavior of two matching elements, one placed after and the other before the discontinuity. As a result, both electrical and mechanical characteristics have been improved with respect to the classical solution based on the quarter-wave transformer.
