Abstract :
Power systems restructuring is one of the trending technologies which help in Energy Management Systems worldwide. Decentralized Interconnected Power Systems in use in recent times have issues like load perturbations affecting output frequencies, issues with nonlinearity, randomness in time delay, delayed settling time, large peak overshoot and large frequency deviation. Therefore to maintain effective Load Frequency Control (LFC) and to maintain optimum performance we propose a new paradigm of AGC system. A One-Area System has been applied with Pole placement and LQR methodologies. Also it has been studied with AGC and Fuzzy controllers, and the simulation results have been obtained. For a Two-Area Power system, AGC has been applied and the concept of deregulation introduced. Simulation works are presented for two area power systems incorporating the concept of two way interactions between DISCO and GENCO systems with DPM matrix.
