Abstract
This paper investigates how knowledge management (KM) can create new business opportunities in the new business environment that is defined by electronic commerce. In particular, we argue that intelligent systems can offer additional capabilities and advantages for KM in comparison with more traditional information technologies. The potential of intelligent-agent based software for more effective KM in the context of e-commerce is investigated from the perspective of an SME involved in multi-agent software development, and propose a research agenda for KM research in e-commerce.
