Abstract
A different mechanism to achieve total transmission through an otherwise opaque screen, based on an inherently ultra-broadband tunneling mechanism that can span from DC to the visible range is introduced. In this talk, the physics of this anomalous tunneling phenomenon which is in many ways analogous to regular Brewster transmission through a dielectric etalon, despite the metal opaqueness is discussed. In addition, the potential application of these effects to produce novel polarization filters, energy concentrators and absorbers is also discussed.
