Abstract
The paper reports on the development of a new compact Gregory offset antenna (COA) for radio link applications. Design principles and electrical characteristics are discussed by example of a 2-m version of the dual polarized antenna for the combined frequency ranges 6.2 and 6.8 GHz. Due to the avoidance of any shadowing and disturbing elements within the radiating aperture a considerably improved sidelobe attenuation can be achieved in comparison to standard high performance antennas. The size and weight correspond to parabolic dish antennas with shroud and radome, the installation can be on platforms as well as on pipes and frame masts.
