Abstract
Standard and special tests were carried out to verify that the reversed field pinch experiment (RFX) converter operation meets all the design requirements both in normal and fault conditions. The tests are described, and their results are discussed. The test results confirm the suitability of computer codes and component electrical models, which were developed during the design phase in order to simulate the machine circuits and to derive the main design choices for the converter units. Examples of the comparison made between computer simulations and experimental tests are given for a few significant cases
