Abstract :
An equivalent electric network model for nonlinear magnetostatic field analysis is presented. The electric circuit allows a simple analysis of the magnetic field distribution in the presence of homogeneous and inhomogeneous materials and allows an easy linkage of lumped parameter circuits and field equations. The model can be used for the analysis of direct and inverse problems, furthermore, an estimate of the B-H curve of a nonlinear material can be obtained. The method has been tested comparing the calculated results with linear and nonlinear benchmark problems. Then the characteristics of the method are shown analysing the magnetic field due to an electromagnet with a large air gap
