Abstract
A teletraffic model that takes user mobility into account is formulated and is supported by a computer simulation based on the next-event time-advance approach. The generalized gamma distribution is used to describe the user cell residence time. The influence of cell size on new and handover call blocking probabilities is examined. The effect of the handover channel reservation on call dropout probability is investigated to determine the optimum number of reserved channels required for handover
