We have studied the sub-picosecond quasiparticle dynamics of the layered manganite La1.4Sr1.6Mn2O7 and the perovskite manganite La0.7Ca0.3MnO 3 using ultrafast optical spectroscopy at 1.5 eV. The dynamics reveal the recovery time of polarons
