Abstract :
In order to study the global characteristics of a photodetector based on a VCSEL structure, an opto-electronic behavioral model has been developed. The model written in VHDL-AMS allows for a combined simulation of optics and electronics of VCSEL in a mixed-signal electronics design framework. Moreover, the use of VHDL-AMS language allows the integration of the model in a system simulation context.
