Abstract :
This report deals with a flexible distribution system for 12-24 kV. The fully XLPE insulated and screened three core cables have been specially designed for aerial application on poles as well as for traditional underground and underwater use. The EXCEL and AXCES system is economically very competitive with traditional distribution systems. Additionally it gives the new system many technical advantages. EXCEL and AXCES are tested in many ways. Under the harsh climate of Shetland they performed very well. They are well insulated for birds and fishermen. Building networks is fast efficient and secure
