Abstract
The paper uses a simple spherical model for the head and makes a number of promising comparisons of predicted and observed azimuth patterns of a handset operating close to the head. Also included is an experimental verification of the program using a truly spherical and homogeneous scatterer. The paper describes the following improvements and extensions of this technique: (1) a two layer model of the head is incorporated; (2) results are obtained both for a half-wave dipole, where previously a Hertzian dipole was assumed; (3) simple arrays of elements are also treated; and (4) near field and internal field patterns are produced, with improved graphics
