Abstract
The finite element method using infinite elements to model the open boundary has been applied to a cavity backed aperture problem. The computed near field strengths both in and around the target have been shown to give good agreement with published works. The ability of the method to also produce good far field results has also been demonstrated by consistency of two separate methods for calculating the far fields
