Abstract
The new energy trading arrangements (NETA) should focus electricity suppliers and customers alike on the value of load management which, for the purposes of this paper, is defined as actual demand being as close as a possible to forecast demand for any given period. Large suppliers will be able to manage their risk effectively through large-scale aggregation and so little may appear to change. However smaller niche supply companies, who may be focusing on strategic large consumers, will look for tools to help them efficiently manage their demand portfolio
