Abstract :
For a uniform filter bank, FIR synthesis filters are designed to minimize the worst-case energy gain (ℋ norm) of the error system between the filter bank and some pure time-delay system. Finite-dimensional convex optimization is used, which guarantees global optimality to any desired accuracy. The numerical method has the advantage of easy incorporation of design tradeoffs among filter length, reconstruction error, and reconstruction delay
