Abstract :
Cascading failures or high-order contingency events result in large blackouts. The causes and analysis of cascading failures in power systems are reviewed in this paper. This paper also discusses the challenges and emerging methods of analyzing cascading failures or higher-order contingencies. A comparison between the methods is presented.
