Abstract :
Regional reactive capability is an important index to evaluate the safety of the power network, since it is related with the economy and reliability of power system. In this paper, a new method based on the static energy function is proposed to evaluate the regional reactive capability. Firstly, the voltage value in base case as well as voltage collapse point is obtained by interior point method; secondly, according to the static energy function, system energy value and energy in node can be gained. With these energy information, we finally establish indices to indicate the regional reactive capability. The simulation of IEEE-30 bus system demonstrates the validity and the practicability of the indices proposed to assess the regional reactive capability.
